The Velleman VM118 RF Remote Control Set (Velleman Module No Soldering Required)
While watching TV and getting warm, you want to turn off the light and turn on the fan across the room but don't want to get up. The Velleman VM118 can help. With eight on-board relays and a remote transmitter, just press a button and voila!
Each relay can handle up to 230 volts AC at 5 Amps and will work with lower voltages, too. Because the transmitter and receiver are RF (radio frequency), you can put the receiver anywhere. Operating at 433MHz means the signal can go through walls or operate in open space up to 165 feet. The relays can be set to latching (press a button on/ press a button off) or momentary (press a button on for about 0.5 seconds/ then off automatically). The LED on the transmitter indicates when a button is being pressed and which relay is active. The relay outputs are transient suppressed using VDRs– great for AC loads.
Want another remote? The VM118R is a good choice. The VM118 transmitter does require 3 AAA batteries for the remote (sold separately). Receiver requires a power supply 12 volt AC at 500mA.
