The Velleman MK173 Mini (6) LED Chaser (Electronic Project Kit –Soldering Required)
You may have seen this type of lighting effect in classic TV shows (on cars, in robots and others). Now, you can have your own with the Velleman MK173 Mini LED Chaser. You can mount it in toy robots, RC cars mount one in your computer, or put one your Halloween costume. The scan rate is fixed at 0.5 seconds from side to side, but you also have the option scan in one direction just by adding a jumper. The six high intensity 3mm LEDs will draw about 20mA at 12 Volts DC.

Great for teaching review by Akauffman on 2/6/2017I buy these for my intro electronics class to learn how to solder. They pay a couple bucks for a new one, otherwise I have them take apart and put back together an old one. Ends up not being terribly expensive for the school. Shipping was fast when I realized I was short for number of students.
